Creative Pocket Books

Life skills and interests
This course offers learners the opportunity to explore creativity through working with paper, card, and recycled materials in a calm, supportive wellbeing setting. Co-produced by learner Sinéad and Creative Practitioner Sarah O’Boyle, the project focuses on producing recycled handmade pocket booklets filled with spaces for storing memories, affirmations, photos, and small treasures, designed as a meaningful gift for yourself or a loved one. Using up-cycled papers, envelopes, and decorative trimmings, the course promotes environmentally conscious creativity while encouraging mindfulness, self-expression, and confidence. Learners will develop new creative skills using accessible resources, experience the emotional and social benefits of making in a safe group environment, reduce feelings of isolation through shared activity, and produce a personalised booklet that can be recreated at low or no cost.
