World Mental Health Day: Real Voices, Real Recovery

We’re delighted to be celebrating World Mental Health Day at Mirfield Community Centre on Monday 12 October 2026, from 10:00am to 12:30pm.
This year’s World Mental Health Day theme, “Real Voices, Real Recovery”, strongly reflects the values that sit at the heart of the Recovery College – Co-production. Co-production is a fundamental part of everything we do. It is about recognising that people with lived experience bring valuable knowledge, insight, and expertise, and ensuring that their voices are heard, respected, and embedded in the way we design and deliver our learning opportunities.
At the Recovery College, co-production means working in partnership. People with lived experience work alongside staff and professionals to shape courses, share skills, and create opportunities that reflect the needs and strengths of our communities. By bringing together different perspectives and experiences, we create a learning environment where everyone can contribute, learn from one another, and feel empowered to take positive steps in their recovery journey.
World Mental Health Day provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the power of these real voices and the role they play in inspiring hope, reducing stigma, and supporting recovery. At our event will be bringing people together for a morning of wellbeing, learning, creativity, and connection, with a range of interactive workshops and activities. There will also be opportunities to find out more about Recovery College courses, wellbeing resources, peer support, and services available across Calderdale and Kirklees.
Whether you’re new to the Recovery College or have been involved with us before, everyone is welcome. Come along, get involved, meet new people, and celebrate recovery in a friendly, inclusive, and supportive environment.
Keep an eye on our social media channels and future updates for more information about the activities, workshops, and opportunities available on the day.
