Discover the hidden stories of our natural world through the fascinating world of British fossils in this new course with Alex from Creative Minds and our Peer Worker, Karen. This gentle and reflective course introduces you to what fossils are, how they form, and where they can be found across the UK, while also exploring how reconnecting with nature can support our mental and emotional wellbeing.
Throughout the course, we’ll learn to recognise common British fossil types and consider how outdoor activities, such as fossil hunting, walking, or simply spending time in natural spaces can reduce stress, spark curiosity, and build confidence. We’ll have the opportunity to share experiences, explore personal interests, and reflect on how nature‑based hobbies can enhance our overall wellbeing.
We will also gain an understanding of responsible fossil collecting, including environmental respect and personal safety. The course includes information about local groups and places to visit, offering inspiration to continue our learning and exploration.
