Yarn for Calm- A Woolbeing Craft Course

Project Colt, Elland, Halifax, Bridgefield Mills, Elland Bridge, Elland, Halifax HX5 0SQ

Life skills and interests

Peer Project Worker, Ali, will guide you through a series of relaxing wool crafts that build in confidence and skill each week. We will begin with simple, colourful pom-pom and tassel keyrings, before moving into creating wool mandalas (God’s Eyes) and developing these designs further as the course progresses. We will finish with some light-hearted Easter-themed wool makes to enjoy or gift to others.

Crafting with yarn can be a wonderfully calming activity, helping us slow down, focus on simple repeated movements and enjoy a relaxed space away from everyday pressures. There is no knitting involved, so no previous experience is needed—just a willingness to have a go and enjoy some mindful making.

All materials will be provided and you will take home your handmade creations, along with ideas for using wool as a wellbeing tool in your everyday life.

Please note: If attending Project Colt this venue is in a converted mill, the building is in the process of being improved so that it is more accessible. In the meantime, if you struggle to climb stairs please get in touch as soon as you can and we will endeavour to put adjustments in place. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, and we thank you for your patience. If you would like any further information, please get in touch.
