Welcome to our weekly update!
As we head toward the end of this term and welcome the first signs of Spring, it’s a great moment to make the most of what’s still ahead. Check out what’s coming up over the next few weeks — from courses with spaces available to brilliant community activities and opportunities you won’t want to miss. There’s something for everyone, so take a look and get involved as we wrap up the term together!
Our Partnership with Ravensthorpe Community Centre
We’re really pleased to share that this spring, we’ll be working in partnership with Ravensthorpe Community Centre (RCCL) to run free wellbeing courses for women who attend their Centres in Ravensthorpe and Heckmondwike. With Eid‑ul‑Fitr taking place last weekend, and so many people in the community marking a time of joy, renewal, reflection, and community after the month of Ramadan, it feels like a lovely moment to start something creative and uplifting together.
Aysha Ayub from RCCL said, “We’re really looking forward to hosting Recovery College wellbeing sessions. There’s already been great interest, and we hope this will become a long-term partnership for the community.”
During four weeks across April and May, we’ll be working with RCCL Community Champions to offer a different wellbeing activity each week:
- Sparkle & Shine – creating beautiful bracelets, necklaces, and earrings
- Woolbeing – crafting mandalas, pom‑poms, and tassels
- Mindfulness – connecting with nature through gentle walking and movement
- Find Your Inner ‘SHERO’ – celebrating strengths, confidence, and personal impact
These sessions are designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and fun, offering people a chance to learn something new, meet others, and take time for their wellbeing. We hope that women who enjoy these courses will feel inspired to join us for more courses and workshops at our Recovery College venues in the future. Matt, our College Principal said, “We’re excited to see this partnership grow and to welcome new learners into our Recovery College community.”
