Writing for Self-Expression

Expressive writing is about self-expression. It helps us to think about our experiences and put our thoughts and feelings into words. In this welcoming course, we’ll take time to reflect and write in a safe, friendly and confidential atmosphere that fosters personal awareness and wellbeing.

It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re used to writing, the exercises and conversation will help you to write about your life and experiences; from a few lines to a story, from a list to a poem.  There’s no requirement to share what you write unless you choose to.

These friendly sessions delivered by our partners at the Royal Literary Fund will be facilitated by a professional writer and our fab, Peer Worker, Laura. Each week we’ll consider a short piece of published poetry and talk together about the impact the words have on us. Writing prompts and exercises will be offered, encouraging us to write about our own experiences, thoughts and feelings.
