How can I work alongside my benefits?

Mirfield Community Centre, Water Royd Lane, Mirfield, WF14 9SG

My development

Thinking about stepping into a new job role can be an intimidating process. For anyone currently claiming benefits, making an informed decision means untangling a complex web of job-related benefits, disability living allowances and permitted work agreements. This is a difficult task without support and is one of the reasons why many of us face a crisis of confidence when considering future job opportunities.

This brand-new, one-off workshop will offer an overview of how various DWP benefits are affected by earnings from work and will also provide a demonstration of how to use handy online tools to check personal finances. Kindly delivered by our friendly Peer Worker, Ash and Employment Specialist, Neil from South West Yorkshire NHS Partnership Trust’s IPS team, will help cut through the noise and simplify the process of decision making about stepping into work – and whether committing to a new job role will really result in more money in our back pocket.

If you are interested in this workshop please also check out our other work related courses:-
