Weekly Update

Welcome to our weekly update!
Mental Health Week is Coming Up! (12th–18th May)
Next week is Mental Health Week—a perfect time to pause, check in with yourself, and reach out to those around you. It’s all about raising awareness, breaking the stigma, and reminding ourselves that mental health matters just as much as physical health.
This year’s theme is “Connection and Community”—because having people to talk to, laugh with, and lean on can make all the difference. We’ve loved seeing new friendships and connections blossom across our college—it’s a great reminder of how powerful community can be.
At our college, we’re big on promoting simple, everyday ways to support your mental wellbeing:
- Laughter really is the best medicine – it eases stress and lifts your mood.
- Nature works wonders – a walk outside can calm your mind and help you focus.
- Sleep matters – getting enough rest can completely change how you feel.
- Talking helps – even a quick chat with a friend can brighten your day.
Let’s keep the conversation going—not just during Mental Health Week, but all year round.
Reminder: Could anyone with squares for our Woven Project please bring them into Mirfield Community Centre by the 23rd May, or sooner if possible.
Read on to find out about course with spaces and community information. Check out what Calderdale our doing on 14th May for Mental Health Week below.
