Weekly Update

Welcome to our weekly update
Welcome to this week’s update!
As we head into the half‑term break, it’s been a really positive week across the Recovery & Wellbeing College. We’ve wrapped up several of our courses — including Managing Relationships, Living Well with Depression and ADHD, Calming Clay Creations and Crochet for Beginners — with some fantastic feedback from learners. It’s been great to see people growing in confidence, connecting with others and taking away tools they can use in daily life.
We’ve also advertised a new full‑time Recovery Coach (facilitator) post, which will strengthen our delivery and help us continue developing what we offer (see below). Once this role is in place, we’ll be looking at how we can enhance our support for people experiencing eating disorders.
A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part in our courses this term — and an especially big shout‑out to our amazing volunteers and hardworking staff who keep everything running with passion and care.
We’ll be taking a well‑earned rest next week, so there’ll be no weekly update — but we’ll be back after the break, refreshed and ready for the next chapter. Read on for community offers, events and happenings – as well as courses with spaces.
Wishing everyone a restful half‑term!

Calderdale Healthy Minds – Our Experience: Lived and Living Project
The project will run from February to May 2026, working in partnership with Everybody Arts in Halifax.
Our Experience: Lived and Living invites members of the community to create art reflecting the theme of ‘lived experience’ of mental health issues and/or disability. Project participants will get chance to explore what the theme of ‘lived experience’ means to them, expanding their creative freedom and developing their artistic practice.
Participants will be supported to nurture artistic skills through artist development sessions and weekly studio access at Everybody Arts in Halifax, where they will be able to use art studio facilities including print making and ceramics. The project will finish with the opportunity to showcase artwork at the Everybody Arts gallery, as part of a wider creative health initiative for Calderdale. The final showcase will amplify the voices of people with lived experience of distress in order to challenge negative cultural attitudes to mental health.
