We all have negative thoughts that can bring us down if we don’t challenge them. On this workshop we will discuss how positive self-talk and affirmations can be used to overcome these unhelpful thinking patterns.  In this uplifting session, with the help and support of our fab Peer Worker, Laura and a Recovery College Volunteer, we will explore breathing exercises, grounding techniques and self-check ins which can all be used to help prevent anxiety from taking over. By using positive affirmations, we can start to turn negative self-talk on its head.

We will also create our very own beautifully decorated affirmation cards to reinforce positive messages. We’ll be able to personalise the cards, using our own words to make them more relevant to each of us and, these unique affirmations, along with the calming exercises will help us regain balance and control when we feel that life’s taking over.

Please note, to ensure we are being fair and equitable to everyone, priority will be given to learners who have not previously undertaken this course.
